Kayaking on Phewa Lake in Pokhara

Kayaking on Phewa Lake

A calm paddle under the Annapurna skyline.

Phewa is an easy place to learn. The water is flat, the boats are stable, and a guide stays with you the whole way. You can go out for an hour or make a half day of it, stopping at the island temple and the far shore.

It suits families and first-timers, and pairs well with a morning at the Peace Pagoda above the lake.

Highlights
  • Flat, beginner-friendly water on Phewa Lake
  • Paddle out to the Barahi temple island
  • Annapurna reflections on a clear morning
A typical 1-day shape

Good to know
Do I need to know how to swim?+

You wear a life jacket the whole time and a guide stays with you, but tell us if you are not a swimmer so we keep the group close to shore.

Can children come?+

Yes. Younger children share a boat with an adult or the guide. Tell us their ages and we set it up.
