The Kushma bungee jump bridge strung across the Kali Gandaki gorge in western Nepal

The Kushma bungee jump in Nepal drops 228 m from a suspension bridge into the Kali Gandaki gorge, about two hours west of Pokhara. A single jump costs 8,000 Nepali rupees, around 60 US dollars, at the operator's 2026 rate, and most people do it as a day trip from Lakeside with the drive, the jump and lunch fitted in before dark.

Where the Kushma bungee is and what you jump from

The jump runs off a 520 m pedestrian bridge that links Kushma, the headquarters of Parbat district, with Balewa on the Baglung side of the river. The deck hangs 228 m above the Kali Gandaki. A company called The Cliff built it specifically for jumping, with a platform and steps set into the middle of the span, and opened it in late 2020. The operator bills it as the second highest bungee jump in the world after the Macau Tower, and it is the highest jump in Nepal.

Kushma has several long suspension bridges, and people mix them up. The Kushma to Gyadi bridge crosses the Modi Khola, not the Kali Gandaki, and it is a walking bridge with no jumping. A second, lower bridge to Balewa also crosses the Kali Gandaki. The bungee bridge is the one inside The Cliff's site, and you enter through the ticket office on the Kushma side.

The same bridge also runs a canyon swing, which some visitors find harder than the bungee because you step off seated and swing out in a long arc through the gorge. The operator quotes an 8.5 second freefall on the swing. There is a tandem swing for two, a sky cycle along a cable over the gorge, and tents and cottages if you want to stay the night.

Kushma bungee jump cost in 2026

The Cliff publishes one price list for every nationality, so a foreigner pays what a Nepali visitor pays. The current list runs until 15 December 2026:

Dollar figures use a rate of about 133 rupees to the dollar and move with the exchange rate. Several agency sites still show 7,000 or 7,500 rupees, which were the older rates, so if a quote looks cheap check which year it comes from.

Those prices cover the activity only, so budget for the ride from Pokhara as well. Local buses run along the Baglung highway and cost little, but they are slow and do not wait for you, so most groups take a private car for the day. Our Kushma bungee jump day trip starts at 79 US dollars per person and covers hotel pickup from Lakeside, the return drive, the harness and briefing, and one jump. The vehicle waits at the site while you jump, and meals, swing add-ons and video stay extra. The final figure depends on group size and what you add on the day, and we confirm it when you book.

Weight limits, age and who should not jump

The operator's page lists a minimum weight of 45 kg and a maximum of about 105 kg for the bungee. Other sources give slightly different figures, so treat 100 kg as the safe number to plan around and let us check with the site if you are close to the edge. Staff weigh every jumper at registration, and the cord is chosen by weight, so the number on the scale decides it on the day.

Jumpers need to be 18 or over. Younger jumpers are sometimes accepted with a parent's written consent, but ask before you drive out. The site turns away anyone with a heart condition, high blood pressure, epilepsy or another neurological disorder, a recent spine, neck or head injury, or a pregnancy. Tell the staff honestly. The jump puts real load on the neck and back when the cord catches.

You do not need any fitness beyond walking out along the bridge. Wear shoes that lace up tightly and empty your pockets before the harness goes on.

How the day runs from Pokhara

We pick you up from Lakeside in the morning. The road runs west out of Pokhara along the Pokhara to Baglung highway, past Nayapul, where the Annapurna treks start, and on to Kushma, about 60 km in all. It is sealed road, roughly two hours with a tea stop.

The site opens from 9 am to 5 pm. At the ticket office you register, sign the waiver and get weighed. Then comes the harness fitting and a briefing from the jump crew. Expect some waiting on a busy day. The Cliff has averaged around 300 visitors a day, according to a 2023 Nepali Times profile, and jumps go one at a time. Most people are on the platform within an hour or two of arriving.

The jump itself is over in seconds. After that there is time for lunch at the site cafe or in Kushma bazaar, a second jump or the swing if you want it, and the drive back to Pokhara by late afternoon. If you are heading toward Beni, Jomsom or Muktinath anyway, the jump fits on the way. Our Pokhara to Mustang road trip guide covers that road, and Kushma is on the first morning out.

Best time of year for the Kushma bungee

The site runs most of the year, and the choice of month has more to do with the road and the light than with the jump. October and November are the best months. The monsoon has cleared, the gorge is sharp and green, and the drive from Pokhara is dry. December to February stays dry and clear, and colder on the bridge in the morning. March and April are warm, with more haze in the valley.

June to September is monsoon. Jumps can pause during heavy rain, and the highway west of Pokhara gets landslide delays, worst in July and August. If you come in those months, keep the day flexible and go on a clear morning rather than a fixed date.

Kushma or the Last Resort on the Bhote Koshi

Nepal's older bungee is at The Last Resort, on the Bhote Koshi near the Tibet border, about three hours from Kathmandu. That jump is around 160 m, from a bridge over the Bhote Koshi gorge in Sindhupalchok. It is a different Bhote Koshi from the Rasuwa river hit by the August 2026 flood.

From Pokhara, Kushma is the obvious pick. It is higher, it is two hours away instead of a full day on the road, and it fits between a paragliding morning and a trek. The Last Resort makes sense only if you are staying in Kathmandu and not coming west at all.

The Kushma jump is one of several adventure days among our Pokhara tours. If you want a second day of adrenaline, our Pokhara paragliding guide covers prices and flying seasons over Phewa Lake. For groups who want the car without a fixed plan, vehicle hire in Pokhara comes with a local driver who knows the Kushma road.
