SUV

More room and clearance for the highways.

A higher, roomier 4x4 SUV for small groups who want comfort on the longer highway runs to Chitwan, Lumbini, or the lower hills.

Handles light rough sections while staying comfortable on the tarmac.

Choose the SUV when a car is too small or sits too low, but the route does not need a full jeep. It seats up to five, rides higher for confidence on rough patches, and stays comfortable on the highways to Chitwan, Lumbini, or Kathmandu. For the unpaved climbs to Mustang or Muktinath the 4WD jeep is the safer call, and for more than five people the van has the seats.

Good to know
Is an SUV good for the highway road trips from Pokhara?+

Yes. An SUV is comfortable on the highways to Chitwan, Lumbini, and Kathmandu, and handles light rough sections that a car cannot. For genuinely unpaved mountain roads we recommend the 4WD jeep.

SUV or 4WD jeep for the mountains?+

The SUV handles light rough sections and long highways well. Once the road turns to genuine unpaved mountain track, as it does beyond Jomsom to Muktinath and Upper Mustang, the 4WD jeep is the right and safer vehicle.

How many people fit in an SUV?+

Up to five passengers with day bags. If you are a larger family or group, the tourist van seats up to twelve and keeps everyone in one vehicle.
