Bardia sits in the far-western Terai, a long way from the tourist trail, which is exactly why it stays wild. It is Nepal's largest lowland park, drained by the great Karnali river, with a healthy tiger population, one-horned rhino, wild elephant, and hundreds of bird species.

You fly to Nepalgunj and drive in, then spend your days on safari drives, river trips, and long guided walks with expert naturalists. It is a bigger commitment than Chitwan, and the reward is a park that feels genuinely remote.

    A morning flight to Nepalgunj on the western plains, then a drive to the lodge on the edge of Bardia, with an afternoon walk to settle in.

Getting there

Good to know
Is Bardia better than Chitwan for tiger?+

Yes. Bardia is quieter and its grasslands make tiger sightings more likely, though never guaranteed. Chitwan is easier to reach and stronger for rhino.

Why the flight?+

Bardia is far west. Driving the whole way takes most of a day each direction, so we fly to Nepalgunj and drive the last stretch.
