Pokhara to Mustang, by 4WD jeep
Up the Kali Gandaki to Jomsom, Muktinath, and Lo Manthang.
The road up the Kali Gandaki gorge is rough, high, and spectacular. It is genuine 4WD country, so we use a Land Cruiser or Bolero-class jeep with a driver who runs these roads regularly.
Lower Mustang to Jomsom and Muktinath needs no special permit; Upper Mustang and Lo Manthang sit in a restricted area and need a permit we arrange for you.

Do I need a 4WD for Mustang?+
Yes. The roads beyond Beni are unpaved, steep, and exposed in places. An ordinary car cannot do them safely, so we use a genuine 4WD jeep with a driver who knows the route.
Do I need a permit for Mustang?+
Lower Mustang, including Jomsom and Muktinath, needs the standard Annapurna permits. Upper Mustang and Lo Manthang are a restricted area that needs a special permit. We arrange both.
How many days does a Mustang jeep trip take?+
Lower Mustang to Muktinath is comfortable in four to five days return from Pokhara. Upper Mustang to Lo Manthang is usually seven to ten days.
