The drive follows the Trishuli river down the Prithvi Highway. In a private vehicle you stop where you like, for lunch above the river or to stretch, rather than waiting on a tourist bus schedule.
Allow six to seven hours of driving. A car suits couples; a van is better for families and luggage.

How long does it take to drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu?+
Around six to seven hours for the 200 km, depending on traffic near Kathmandu and any stops. We leave early to arrive in good time.
Can we stop in Bandipur or at Manakamana on the way?+
Yes. A private vehicle lets you add a hilltop stop at Bandipur or the Manakamana cable car. Tell us in advance so we plan the timing.
